Head of Finance (interim)

Aspire has grown considerably over the last few years and with a turnover now in excess of £1m with diverse income generation activity comprising a mixture of restricted funds, grants, donations, charitable activities and trading, we are now creating a new, interim role of Head of Finance to support our sustainable growth and to help meet our compliance and governance needs and responsibilities.

Salary range is £38,000 to £45,000 (FTE per annum), for a 1 day a week commitment as a 12 month, fixed term appointment.

Trustee position - Digital champion (voluntary)

Aspire is celebrating its seventeenth year as an Oxfordshire charity. Over that period we have expanded from a small charity providing employment opportunities for a few people experiencing homelessness in Oxford city, into a countywide provider of professional services and employment support for those most in need of help.

Aspire is now looking to recruit a new trustee to help us sustain and develop our increasing responsibilities for governing our charity effectively, by bringing a new set of skills and experiences to our Board and organisation.

We’re looking for a new trustee who will:

  • Be interested in Aspire’s work and committed to our social mission.
  • Be willing and able to give their time, experience, skills and enthusiasm to help run our charity. This includes specific, regular time commitments.
  • Have relevant background and experiences to bring different points of view to our discussions, give insight into our beneficiaries’ needs and experience, make new contacts for us in the communities & markets in which we operate, and think of new ways of doing things.

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with digital experience and expertise, to help provide the following responsibilities on the Aspire Board:

  • Provide thought leadership on the role of digital in Aspire’s fundraising, marketing, communications, service delivery and operations and help Aspire’s employees to build and implement this vision.
  • Highlight the opportunities and the risks of digital, in terms of our strategy in general.
  • Translate the risks and opportunities of digital for other trustees, to enable the board as a whole to engage in an informed way.
  • Provide strategic oversight of our new digital transformation project implementation.
